Born and raised in England, I now reside in the Northeast United States.
When I was a kid, I didn't much care for reading--but loved stories. I would later be diagnosed with dyslexia and this probably explains why I was so fond of listening to audiobooks right from the start. Eventually I learned reading strategies that allowed me to work directly with the pages of the books themselves, but audiobooks became a lifelong love, and eventually a professional interest.
After an inauspicious time in secondary education, a few years working in factories convinced me that there might be something to the possession of academic qualifications after all. I hit my studies with the zeal of a convert, studying literature in the Lake District setting of Lancaster University. Next, I couldn't have picked a more different location for my doctoral studies: SUNY Buffalo in New York State's frigid north!
My primary interests include but are not limited to: spending time with family, eating much more dark chocolate than is good for me, drinking very large amounts of green tea (which probably is good for me), reading, and hanging out with my dog and three cats.
In addition to writing stories of my own, I have a passion for performing the words of others--both activities allow me to indulge with equal satisfaction my enthusiasm for storytelling. I am actively looking for new voice projects in the field of audiobooks (I enjoy pretty much all genres) and other voice over arts.
